Baby Root Canals (Pulpotomy) in DHA Phase 4, Lahore

Saving Baby Teeth to Guide Adult Teeth.

If your child complains of a toothache or has a deep cavity, the infection may have reached the nerve. Instead of pulling the tooth (which causes crowding later), we perform a Pulpotomy—often called a "Baby Root Canal." At Dental Services in Sector DD, we make this procedure fast and comfortable.

Why Save a Baby Tooth?

You might ask, "Why not just pull it? It's going to fall out anyway." Baby molars need to stay in place until age 10-12. They act as placeholders for the adult teeth. If you pull them too early, the other teeth shift, causing severe crowding that requires expensive braces later. Saving the tooth is the best investment.

What is a Pulpotomy?

Unlike an adult root canal, we do not remove the roots.

  • Procedure: We remove only the infected top part of the nerve (pulp chamber). The roots are left alive and healthy.
  • Medication: We place a soothing medicine to heal the remaining nerve.
  • Crown: We cover the tooth with a cap (Crown) to protect it.

Signs Your Child Needs One

  • Pain: Complaints of hurting when eating sweets or at night.
  • Swelling: A small pimple on the gums near the tooth.
  • Deep Cavity: Visible large hole in the tooth.

Our Process at our Sector DD Clinic

  1. Comfort: We use "sleepy juice" (local anesthesia) to numb the tooth. We can also use Nitrous Oxide to help them relax.
  2. Cleaning: We remove the decay and the top part of the nerve.
  3. Sealing: We place the medicine and a filling.
  4. Crowning: We usually place a Stainless Steel Crown over the tooth in the same visit.

What Our Parents Are Saying

"My son woke up crying with a toothache. Dr. Najam did a pulpotomy and put a silver cap on. He was eating normally by dinner time! So relieved we saved the tooth." — Mr. Ali, DHA Phase 4
